Copper peptide GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine. The tripeptide has a strong affinity for copper(II) and was first isolated from human plasma. It can be found also in saliva and urine.
Research shows that GHK-Cu affects a large number of genes related to an organism’s response to stress and injury (tissue remodeling, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-pain, anti-anxiety, blood vessel growth, nerve outgrowth, anti-cancer action). It has substantial benefits in wound healing, immune function and skin benefits. Aside from its anti-aging properties, it has also been found to suppress free-radical damage, increase protein synthesis, fight bacteria, and increase the health of skin and fibroblasts.
